Garrard, the Crown Jewellers, do not put their name on products lightly. This watch shows that.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the Birmingham hall mark on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1988.
CONDITION
In 1988 the vast majority of the watches being made and sold were quartz. Finding automatic gold watches from this period is not easy, and finding one as nice as this even harder. This watch is fitted with a Garrard branded ETA 2892-2, and this 21 jewel movement was also used by other good brands like TAG Heuer, Tudor and Longines. As well as being slim for an automatic, it also beats at 28,800 bph and has quick set date. The case hasn’t been machined polished, but doesn’t show more than minor marks anyway. The case back has never been engraved, The dial is very good. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
