A scarce watch for a Seiko, and with a full calendar including moonphase. Model reference 7F38-6110
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can date this watch to being made in December 1987. There is a chance the watch was made in December 1997, as the movement first came in to production in 1986 and fan for over 12 years, but the styling, size and SQ moniker design suggest the earlier date.
CONDITION
The 7F38 movement has moonphase at 12, adjusted via the pusher at 2. Day of the week is in the subdial at 3, and date pointer in the subdial at 6. The subdial at 9 is a 24 hour indicator which is useful to make sure the watch is not set up 12 hours out. This is quickset via the crown at 9, and the regular crown at three can quickset both day and date. We will set the watch up for the new owners timezone before sending it out. Everything is working correctly. The curved glass does have a few scratches. The stainless steel case does wear small, so although this was designed as a men’s watch we have listed it today as unisex. The original bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
