The 7A38 series of movements are a quartz high water mark. The first to have 1/10th seconds analogue dial ever made, the 15 jewel movements can be completely stripped and serviced.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this 7A38-7180 watch to being made in September 1987.
CONDITION
Like gold plating, PVD can wear through. So the first thing to talk about is the condition of the PVD, which is 9/10. The top corners of the case have wear, but that is about it. The bracelet has wear on the very edges, but the clasp is good and still has the gold plating on the logo. The watch works well and does not suffer the sticky pushers this model sometimes gets from lack of maintenance (gunk builds up). The JPS colour scheme of this watch perfectly suits the period. The quickset day and date works well. The glass has one small scratch near 7, but is otherwise good. The dial is close to perfect, including all six hands.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
