A triple gold look 7A38 Seiko at a reasonable price – please read why.  Model reference 7A38-7190

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in July 1986.

The 7A38 movement was the first watch movement to show day and date, as well as a 1/10th second analogue chronograph.  This, and the quality of them has pushed prices of these and their non calendar cousins 7A28 up and up.  They have all metal movements that can be stripped and cleaned, and there is even a forum dedicated to just these which is a fountain of knowledge.  They do have some known faults too, one of which are sticky pushers.  We have stripped this watch, cleaned the pushers in both ultrasonic bath and cleaning machines, relubricated them with Seiko grease and they still stick occasionally, as shown in the video.  If you don’t press the buttons in fully you can operate the chrono and they stick less, but we are selling this otherwise fully working watch with this known issue.  The case shows some wear on the case, and the bracelet is not a Seiko item, but the dial and hands are excellent as is the glass.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
