HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the inside of the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1986.
CONDITION
In 1948, when the Seamaster was launched, it was not a chunky dive watch with rotating bezel. This later image is what we now associate with any Omega Seamaster, but there are many models like this one that do not conform to those preconceptions. In 1986 the fashion wasn’t for big divers watches, but slim, elegant gold plated watches with rectangular cases, so this was Omega giving the market what they wanted. This Omega Seamaster has a ETA based movement with quick set calendar, rebranded for Omega, so future servicing should be both easily available and inexpensive. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. Condition is excellent for a new forty year old watch, with the case showing the smallest of marks and glass perfect. The hands has the smallest amount of corrosion if you expand the photos or use an eye glass – with the naked eye the only thing you might see is some wear on the original leather strap. Signed on the movement, dial, crown, caseback, buckle and strap.
