This Swiss Marvin Revue 9k gold watch was presented in 1986, and has the box and papers to complete the lot.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

We can date this to 1986 from the inscription on the watch back and the original guarantee.  The box even has the sticker on for William Cope, the recipient.

CONDITION

A lot of long service watches rarely get worn but are saved for best.  It is clear from the condition of the case that Mr Cope didn’t wear this often – the edges are very crisp, the dial faultless.  The crown is the original signed item.  We have just had a new leather strap fitted, and we have fitted a brand new ETA movement to the watch.

We have done some research into the company that presented this watch,  Courtaulds Hosiery, and the company owned Pretty Polly – the inventors of hold up stockings!  They were invented in 1967, 19 years before this watch was presented to Mr Cope.  What, if any, part he played in the invention or production is lost to history.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
