HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in September 1985.
CONDITION
There is a very good article on The Springbar about the 7A28 chronograph movement, and this is the sister 7A38. It is the same base movement, but with day and date quickset calendar function added. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. This model, the 7A38-7180, was unusual in being coated with Physical vapor deposition (PVD). While this adds a very sleathly look, PVBD can wear and the contrast between where PVD wears through and the base stainless steel creates quite a contrast. However this watch is generally in good condition, with wear just on the high points. It is not perfect, but it is better than most. The movement functions work, but both 1/10th of a second and chrono centre seconds are just behind the perfect position. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
