CONDITION
Rado first launched the Diastar model in 1962, marketing it as the first scratch proof watch thanks to the use of sapphire crystal. This was pioneering stuff, but the rel advantage for vintage watch collectors is that scratch proof (okay, scratch resistant in modern terms) watches tend not to get scratched, making them look clean and like new many years later. This is the case with this watch. the edge to edge sapphire crystal is practically unmarked, and while the bi metal bracelet is stainless steel it is also in very good order. The dial does have a few aging spots that you can see with a loupe (or on the enlarged photographs), but in real size they are very difficult to notice. Not everyone appreciates Rado watches, but this Diastar shows the real quality they possess.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers, spare link and our Certificate of Authenticity.
