HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1984.

CONDITION

Jean Lassale made his name in the 1970’s designing and producing extremely thin watch movements.  But by 1979 the company was in trouble, and the rights to the movements were licensed to Piaget but the brand was sold to Seiko.  Seiko continued to make very good, high end slim watches as the Seiko Lassale range, and this is where this watch fitted into their range.  The styling is perfect for the time, and the condition is hard to fault for a watch of this age – if this was in the Seiko museum it would not look out of place.  The 8420A movement is working well, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.  The case is just 4.5mm thick, which used to be the preserve of brands like Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin and Piaget to be able to make entire watches this thin, but the Seiko Lassale did make this more obtainable (although there were still an expensive watch).  The Z1047 bracelet is long enough for most wrists, and can be shortened if required, but can not be extended without finding spare links which will not be easy.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
