HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1984.
CONDITION
A watch can be called Ultrathin if it is in a case that is 5mm thick or under, and this Omega just qualifies. The dimensions are quite small all round for a men’s watch, but if it was designed for ladies the Omega reference number would have started 591 instead of 191, so it was definitely designed for men. At the time, small almost unisex watches were bang on trend, so it all fits 1984 well. The movement is Omega’s calibre 1377, which is working very well indeed – it is currently running at +0.05 seconds per day, which is as close to perfect as you are likely to find. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The case is 20 micron gold plated, and the plating is holding up well. The dial has a few marks, but also has a pattern and sparkle to it which is quite attractive. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and crown.
