This Ladies Omega is the Seamaster Monte Carlo, and has lots with the watch. Model reference DL796.0842
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the paperwork, which matches the models number on the inside of the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in May 1984. We also have the original receipt showing a cost price of $314 USD. This Monte Carlo model was first launched in 1982.
CONDITION
Around this time Omega experimented with subnames to subnames, so instead of just Omega Seamaster you got Omega Seamaster Monte Carlo, or Seamaster Brest etc. Most people would just refer to this as a Seamaster. The long bracelet is original and has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and it retains the original signed clasp too. The glass is perfect, and the case has been cleaned by hand. The movement is an ETA one – Omega did use these after the 1983 takeover by Swatch group, so this is not too surprising. The movement is not signed, so may be a later replacement, but as the calendar wheel is gold to match the dial it is more than likely as it left the Omega factory. The case does show some signs of wear, but the dial is very clean and again original. The cheapest new ladies Seamaster is £2,590, so our watch represents a huge saving. All is working well, and a new battery will be fitted before this is sent out.
