A nice condition Omega De Ville model with box, papers and the original crown and buckle. Model reference 195.0039

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1984. The paperwork, which is stamped and dated but doesn’t include the serial number, is dated Christmas Eve 1986 (which may explain missing the serial number on the busiest shopping day of the year!)

CONDITION

This De Ville watch looks to have spent much of its life in the box. The case is 20 micron gold plated, and the worst damage is some tool marks on the case back where a battery has been changed in the past. The movement is Omega calibre 1434, a simple set and forget quartz movement which, as this doesn’t have a second hand or the word quartz on the dial, is not immediately clear that this is not one of the more expensive mechanical watches. The quick set date is working via the signed crown, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The original buckle has been transferred to the new strap to complete the look.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail. All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned. We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
