One of the best movements of the 1980’s, this 7A28 Seiko is a highly sought after watch. Model reference 7A28-7040.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in October 1983.
CONDITION
These Seiko 7A28-7040 (and the sister model 7A28-7049) are always popular and tend to sell quickly. Not only are they horologically interesting – the movement was the very first quartz to have analogue 1/10th seconds – but they are also much larger than many watch from this period and that tends to suit today’s watch wearer better. They are also excellent quality movements, that can be fully dissembled and serviced. Everything is working correctly, and the pushers are not sticky. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The chronograph second hand is maybe off centre by a touch, but not enough to warrant stripping the watch down. The case is in good condition, and the bezel turns with a click in both directions. The original bracelet (B1075) is quite long, and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
