Reversible watches have been around since the JLC Reverso, but this Seiko HM is the first one of this model we have seen. Model reference 2N00-0070.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the bottom lug we can date this watch to being made in 1982. The movement was first used in 1980, but we can not find this model in either the 1982 nor 1983 catalogues (likewise for 1992 or 1993). It could be a limited edition or a market specific model, hence it is not in the catalogue.
CONDITION
The condition is excellent – the strap is signed Seiko (as is the buckle), and may be the original which would mean the watch has hardly ever been worn. To make the watch reversible it does need to be off the wrist, and it pivots around the lugs at 12 and 6 as shown in the video. The black dial has a 3D print to it and the numerals on the bezel, whereas the white side has access to the screws that hold the case together. Each dial has its own movement, so you can set the time to maybe home and away when travelling. We will install a brand new batteries before sending the watch out to the new owner. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the case, movements, buckle and strap.
