There are not too many 42mm watches from 1982, but this Seiko really nailed the design of a divers watch.  Model reference 7548-7000.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in October 1982.  We attach a picture from the 1982 catalogue, showing this model would have cost ¥35,000

CONDITION

In 1982 the fashion was still towards small, slim dress watches so this divers watch from Seiko was a real tool watch – made for the job.  So it has a very clear dial, and strong lume.  The bi directional bezel has a lume pip at 12 to help in low light conditions.  Designed to be water resistant to 150m, you needed to have features like a screw down crown to help ensure that.  The 7548A movement is all working well, including the quick set day and date – the day can be set to English or Kanji.  We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.  The watch comes with the original Seiko rubber strap, which has been cleaned ultrasonically, but only has one strap keeper.  The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, buckle and strap.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.x
