HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1982.
CONDITION
This slim divers watch has the nickname Calypso, but why it is so called isn’t commented on in the Omega books. However these are highly desirable and stainless steel case and black dial is the combination to have. The movement is Omega’s calibre 1337, which is a high end quartz movement. You can independently adjust the hour hand, which is ideal for travellers crossing time zones. You can also quick set the date by moving the hour hand round. To set the minute or second you use the pusher at 2, either pausing the movement or by pressing for five seconds, releasing and repressing the button you can power the second and minute hand forward. This is all working correctly and was serviced by Swiss Time Services in December 2019. They may have changed the hands at service, as the hands glow brighter than the dial. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The case has a few marks, which isn’t unexpected for a steel sports watch. The bracelet is a brand new Geckota brushed mesh stainless steel one, which suits the watch well but could be swapped for a leather, isofrane or rubber strap – the 20mm lugs allow a wide choice of options here.
