An unusual rope edged case on this Omega De Ville, as was the trend at the time. Model reference 191.0169.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1982.
CONDITION
In 1982 the rope edge detail was quite a fashionable thing, to the point that even Audemars Piguet launched their ‘cord’ range that incorporated the rope design into the bracelet as well in 1983. This Omega is far cheaper than the Audemars Piguet though! The details on the rope are still crisp, and few signs of wear are visible. The movement is calibre 1365, a nine jewel Omega in house quartz movement that does away with a crown button. Instead, to adjust the time you use a cocktail stick or similar to advance the time via a hidden pusher at 2, leaving a clean case look. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. There are some slight marks on the glass, but the light brown dial is very good – we have taken a photograph of the dial uncased to show this. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. While this was originally marketed as a men’s watch, the size now suits anyone.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
