This men’s Omega was a long service award from Whitbread in 1982, owners of many a pub and Costa Coffee.  Model reference 132.5017

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can say that was made in 1978.  But the Birmingham assay mark, and the more obvious engraving on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being assayed and presented in 1982.

CONDITION

By 1982 mechanical watches were almost novelties, with quartz watches becoming the norm.  This Omega therefore is unusual, having the Omega calibre 1030 manual winding movement inside, and that makes it more desirable now than it was back in 1982!  That movement is running well, and it has quick set date and hacking all controlled by the signed crown.  The 9k gold case is in very good shape, as is the honey gold dial that seems to change colour depending on the angle and the available light bouncing off it.  The stick hands and hour markers, lined with black for clarity, are straight and true.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.  The buckle is the gold plated original, signed with the Omega logo.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
