A men’s Tissot Stylist that is absolutely typical of the time, still on the original signed strap and with a most unusual engraving!
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork, which matches the inscription on the case back, we can accurately date this watch to being sold in December 1985. However the serial number shows it was made in 1982. Either year could be considered valid for a Birth Year Watch.
CONDITION
We have seen lots of watches with long service award inscriptions, and we like them – the dedication adds tot he watch history. But we have never seen a watch given for just two years service before! Maybe the watch was not to Ray’s taste, as he doesn’t appear to have worn it often. The glass is perfect, the plating is pristine on the case and the watch is likely to have spent the vast majority of its life in the box, which is also in great shape. The leather strap is the original branded Tissot one, with just light wear. The movement is a Tissot branded ETA 7 jewel quartz, which is all working well. The dial on this Tissot Stylist is in perfect condition and legible. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
