Original full length bracelet, box and instruction manual make this a great survivor. Model reference M929 – 5010
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in January 1980.
CONDITION
These LCD watches were the original smartwatches of their day. Not only does it tell the time, but you can time things to 100ths of a second. It will tell you the day, date and month. It even has a light to help you read it at night! No one made these better than Seiko, and this has their stainless steel case and bracelet when many at the time were using resin cases, which haven’t stood up well to time. In fact, Seiko were the first to make a multifunction wristwatch with a stopwatch in 1975. The only issue with this example was the glass was scratched, but we sourced and fitted a new old stock new glass to make this as good as it can be. The bracelet and case will have light scratches, as they have not been polished. Everything on the M929 movement (or module as LCD watches are called) works correctly, even the light which is often the first to fail. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner and set the watch up to their timezone.
