HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1980. The model was first launched in 1979.
CONDITION
The De Ville is Omega’s dress watch line, and therefore it should come as no surprise that this 1980 watch is a two hand, slim watch made for elegance and not extravagance. The watch doesn’t even have a crown to catch on a cuff, thanks to the Omega innovative caliber 1365 movement. This quartz movement is set via a push button, as Omega deemed it so accurate that you would rarely need to adjust the time. Everything is working correctly with this, and we will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The dial has some vertical graining to the pattern, which in some lights can look not quite right – we have photographed the dial without the glass so you can see the condition is very nice. There is also some oxidisation to centre where the hands meet. The 14k gold plating is 20 microns deep, and shows just a little wear. The leather strap is lightly used, and could be swapped for a new strap in a different colour or material if preferred. The watch is signed on the dial, case, and movement.
