On the original bracelet, this King Seiko is more accurate than most new quartz watches by a margin. Model reference 9923-8050.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number hallmark on the case back movement we can accurately date this watch to being made sold assayed engraved in 19.
CONDITION
The Seiko 99xx series movements launched in 1978 as a new level of accuracy, and the movements were graded in accuracy of seconds per year rather than seconds per day. At the very top end the 9983 found in the Superior models were 5 seconds per year, the 9943 found in the Grand Quartz were 10 seconds per year, and the 9923 in the King Seiko were 20 seconds per year. The Superior models cost four times as much as the King Seiko, for less than a tenth of a second a day! For comparison a standard new quartz movement might lose 1-2 seconds a day. Everything is working correctly including the quick set day and date (the day wheel is in English and Kanji). We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The glass has small marks but the dial is excellent, changing colour as the light reflects. The bracelet is full length and easily adjustable without special tools. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
