This Credor model from Seiko really was ahead of the time – a few years later and most watches looked like this. Model reference 6020-5080.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1979.
CONDITION
You can not make a watch this slim without knowing what you are doing. At just 4.2mm thick, this is a stunning dress watch. The dial is blue, turning to black in different lights, which the video shows nicely. Credor are Seiko’s higher end line of dress watches, and it was founded in 1974. Originally all the Credor watches were in precious metals, but the price of gold in the 1970’s quadrupled and that ruined that plan. Designed to mainly focus on the Japanese domestic market, they are not common in Europe. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The very edge of the dial has some patina if you look closely. The steel case also has marked from being worn, but nothing out of place to report. There are some scratches on the glass, above 6 and 7. The cabochon stone in the crown is not chipped or cracked. The leather strap is nearly new, and has a Seiko buckle fitted (signed on the underside). The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement and buckle.
