Omega used the Pie Pan dial on 1950’s Constellations, and have revived it recently for the Globemaster series. We can see why. Model number 196.0189
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the Omega 1342 movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1979.
CONDITION
The Pie Pan dial is the stand out feature, but lots of other positives are here too. The 13 jewel calibre 1342 movement is working well, and has just had a new push button. This movement has the quick hour adjustment – pull the crown to the first position and the hour hand can move independently to the minute hand, making it ideal for changing time zones. Full instructions for this movement can be found here. The stainless steel case is good, with the prominent lugs and milled bezel. The 19 mm black leather strap is new. But the dial is the USP for this watch – please do watch the video for this one to see how the light bounces off the 12 differently angled surfaces.
Please note we have updated the photos, but not the video, since we have cleaned the bezel.
This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
