HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1979.
CONDITION
This watch has a complete, and expensive, restoration in 2022 by Omega. As well as a full service, the watch had a new bezel, pusher, crown, hands, dial and bracelet – so the only original things left are the case and movement! This might ruin it for some people, who crave originality (all the original parts, except for the bracelet is included with this watch), but for others it is the chance to have a fully sorted, looking like new vintage watch. The seller of the watch, a previous customer of ours, never wore the watch after the service work was done, and the case back sticker is still in place. The Calypso is a sought after model anyway, being a stylish but slim divers watch with nice features. They include an independently set hour hand, a very accurate, all metal Omega calibre 1332 17 jewel quartz movement and a slim case – slimmer than many dress watches! We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The watch is not perfect – the case is unpolished and does have marks, and the crystal has some chips at six o’clock. The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required. The watch is signed on the dial, case, movement, crown and clasp.
This watch will be supplied with the Omega service box – complete with the service number sticker that matches the paperwork, service papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
This watch has been checked against the Watch Register and has not been reported as lost, stolen or implicated in fraud, and a copy of that certificate will also be included.
