HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1979.
CONDITION
This model was originally provided on a leather strap, as shown on Omega’s own website here. But either when new or at a later date this genuine Omega bracelet stamped 1001 and 32 has been added. Given the excellent condition of the bracelet we suspect it is much more recently. If you wanted to return the watch to a leather strap then this is easy and cheap, but buying a new bracelet certainly would not have been inexpensive.
All barring one thing the watch is in very good order. Sadly the dial has some marks near 9 and just a little near 10 that are not visible in all lights, but the are there – our photos show how at some angles it almost disappears, but it is also clear to see in others. The case is in very good condition, and the acrylic crystal is the Omega signed correct item. The crown is also signed. The 1010 automatic movement has hacking and quick set date, and all is working perfectly. Apart from the marks on the dial it would be difficult to complain about anything on this example. A bracelet for a 1979 Omega could cost as much as this entire watch.
