HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1978.
CONDITION
Seiko launched the world’s first LCD watch in 1973, and continued to develop the technology. In 1977 they launched the A128 series, including the A128-5000. This gives you extra functionality, such as a 1/10 second stopwatch, backlight and day, date and month calendar. You can download a full instruction book for this model here. This watch is very honest, on the original, long Z167 bracelet and Seiko SQ clasp, and in the matching SQ box. The glass has a few marks, and the case has not been polished so will show light scratches, but all the functions work (even the light, which rarely does). As will all the LCD watches of this period the LCD screen is not readable at angles, as shown in the photos, but all segments work. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
