This manual wind men’s 1978 Longines is in the sort of condition you dream about finding any vintage watch.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
The warranty book has been filled in with the date but the watch movement serial number is not completed in the book. However the watch serial number would be consistent with a 1978 Longines, and as the watch, box and papers all came together it is highly likely to be correct as a date of sale.
CONDITION
Normally we would be saying we have cleaned the bracelet in our ultrasonic bath, but with this watch there has been no need – the photos and video show what this looks like and it looks to hardly ever have being worn. The dial has a few light marks, and we will clean the crystal of the fluff shown in some of the photos. The movement is a Longines calibre 847-4, a seventeen jewel hand wound item that is working well. It is a slim movement, which allows a slim watch case. You will not find a better example of this watch.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity.
