HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in February 1977.
CONDITION
These models are sometimes mistakenly called either the Steve Jobs, or the James Bond watches, but they wore the M159-5028 and o674-5009 respectively. The 0674 movement was launched in 1975 and was the World’s first LCD watch with a chronograph, and this M159 movement was the follow up. As well as having the buttons large and central on the front of the watch, you also have a pusher where the crown would normally by to select between time and date, or chronograph functions. All these buttons work, and all the features work too. Ergonomically the buttons on the front make some sense, as does the case design, which is angled towards the wearer. The case is unpolished but as the glass was badly scratched we have found a NOS glass and replaced this. The Z126 bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. We will install a brand new battery and set the watch to their timezone before sending the watch out to the new owner.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
