This Tissot Seastar was made in 1977 and presented as a shooting prize in 1979. Complete with original box and papers.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this to being made in 1977 from the serial number on the watch movement, but it is also inscribed as a prize in a shooting competition in 1979. Either date could be considered valid as a birth year watch.
Really nice – we suspect it has spent most of its life in its box. The 2030 movement has the hour quick set feature – when you pull out the crown to adjust the time the hour hand jumps in hour units. This is ideal for travellers who are setting different time zones. The mineral glass has a small light scratch between 5 and 6, but nothing to worry about. Fitted to a new leather strap.
Approximately 38.5 mm wide including the signed crown, 12.2 mm thick. Takes an 18 mm strap.
