HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1977.
CONDITION
There is a good reason you can’t find many of these watches left. Ladies watches are worth less than men’s watches, and if anyone needed a calibre 1320 movement they bought a ladies Omega Seamaster watch and transferred the movement to a more valuable men’s watch. This early quartz movement was launched in this model in 1974, and the dial was labelled Megaquartz. The movement was deemed so accurate that moving the minute hand was done by pressing the centre button within the crown inwards, as you would hardly ever need to do it. This can be troublesome, as the buttons get stuck, but this is working fine. The hour hand adjusts in a more conventional way, and this also allows you to quick set the date. The case is 20m gold plated, and being a Seamaster it had some water resistance when new (but never get any vintage watch wet). The dial, hands and acrylic crystal are all very good. The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred. The strap has the original 10mm Omega gold plated buckle still. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner.
