This Caravelle Devil Diver (because of the 666ft on the dial) is far more affordable than it’s Bulova cousins.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial numbers on both the movement and the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1977.

CONDITION

This is a stainless steel automatic divers watch from the 1970’s, so it is surprising it is not more money to buy.  The 17 jewel movement has day and date calendar functions, both with quick set and the day wheel can be set to English or French easily.  They are both operated via the screw down crown, which no doubt helped get the 666ft water resistance when it was new (never get vintage watches wet though!)  Some of the Caravelle models have chromed cases and / or 333ft ratings, so this is the premium specification.  The bezel turns in both directions and without click, and is a nice resistance – not too loose, not too tight.  Overall the watch presents very well, with the dial, hands and bezel all far better than average and the case only having light marks.  The lume is still strong too, at least at first.  The rubber strap is new, and could be swapped for a leather strap if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
