An early LCD watch from Bulova, in a solid stainless steel case and still on the original bracelet.

From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1977.

LCD watches first came out in 1973, but it wasn’t until 1977 that they became the watch to have as prices came down and competition kicked in.  As this competition continued, standards for most companies dropped and material quality was reduced accordingly.  So this watch has a twin battery set up, both of which will be renewed before this is sent out, cased in solid stainless steel.  The top right button changes the function, to date and then to running minutes and seconds (this being an early watch you only have a four digit readout, so you can not display HH:MM:SS at the same time).  The bottom left pusher works the light, which does still function but these were never very bright when new.  To adjust the time or date you use the recessed button on the right hand side of the case.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
