This blue dialed, day date Grand Quartz from Seiko was a high end watch. Model reference 4843-8050.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in June 1976.
CONDITION
Before we even mention condition this Grand Quartz has three great reasosn to consider adding it to your collection. First up is has a full length bracelet that will fit most wrists, with the original clasp. These are rare and desirable. The second reason is the patterned blue dial, which the video shows better than the static photographs can. And the third reason is what makes this a Grand Quartz, the movement. These 48** series movements were designed to be accurate to +/- 5 seconds a month. This is all working well, including the advance to the next ten hacking feature demonstrated in the video. We will install a brand new battery before sending the watch out to the new owner. Condition wise there is hardly anything negative to report – a minor mark on the non crown side of the case, surface makes consummerate with age, and tool marks on the battery hatch. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
