One of the later manual wind  De Ville models before they switched to quartz movement, complete with boxes and buckle.  Model reference 111.0131.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

Normally we can date Omega movements by their serial numbers, but this has a serial number starting with R.  This indicates, we are lead to understand, that this watch has had a replacement movement.  This could have been done at any point, including before it left quality control at Omega originally, so it doesn’t concern us.  Happily Omega have this reference De Ville on their own website for 1976 (albeit a stainless steel version with a different crown).

CONDITION

This watch has clearly been looked after, as is so often the case with watches that are still in their original boxes.  The silver dial has the tiniest marks, and the glass is showing no chips or scratches.  The strap is an Omega branded 17 mm one, but it has been squeezed to fit the 16 mm lugs.  The gold plated 16 mm Omega buckle is still there too.  The manual wind movement is working well, and the signed crown is still present.  The 20 micron gold plating is standing up very well, with few marks to mention.  The case dimensions wear larger than they suggest, more like a Franck Muller Casablanca (but not as thick).  This is a nice example.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
