HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the supplied paperwork we can accurately date this watch to being sold in December 1976.
CONDITION
Ladies watches are often the poor relation when it comes to specification, but this has everything that a goods men’s watch would also have. That includes a water resistant stainless steel case, faceted glass crystal, and an automatic, 21.6Kbph ETA movement that has quickset day and date. Let’s start with the movement. It is a 21 jewel ETA 2688, a variation of which was also used by Tudor, and can be hand wound as well as automatically. The case shows wear by not damage, and has not been polished. The watch comes on the original stainless steel bracelet, signed on the clasp and this has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath. The bracelet is also of a good length, essential on vintage watches where finding extra links can be very difficult. The glass has two parallel facets running from top to bottom, so the dial always looks interesting, but this glass does has some noticeable scratches. The video will show the effect these facets have better than the still pictures.
Please note that in the pictures the links nearest the watch case were actually fitted the wrong way around. That mistake had been rectified before the video was made.
This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box, papers and our Certificate of Authenticity. The presentation box is missing the C shaped section that would have held the watch.
