This stainless steel Bulova LED watch is in fantastic condition and is fully working.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1976.
CONDITION
1976 was the year of LED watches! Before this they were available, but very expensive. By late 1977 LCD was the new technology, with its always on display and lower power consumption was winning sales and LED never recovered. Maybe this example was never sold – there are little if any signs it has been worn, with just the light scratches on the clasp that could have easily been from storing the watch. The watch is fully working and uses two 386 batteries, which we will replace before sending the watch out. The bracelet is the full size, which is important on an integrated bracelet like this, and the combination of stainless steel and the blue face is still an attractive design. The screw down case back protects the movement.
LED watches only display for a few seconds when the pusher at 2 is pressed, so most photos do not show the display. Please look at the video to see the watch in action.
