This ever popular Timex has the racing or chequered dial, with orange indices and second hand and retains its rotating bezel.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the dial we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1975.

CONDITION

This is the second one of these we have had, but the last one didn’t have the rotating divers style bezel.  We say divers style, as it doesn’t click when it turns and the watch is only water resistant.  Luckily the condition of this example shows that the previous owner didn’t get it wet!  The racing dial is very nice, with the mirrored rehaut and orange details.  The hands are original, and the seconds hand has faded a little to prove that.  The case is good, with minor signs of wear.  The watch runs easily for 24+ hours to within a minute or so – these pin pallet movements were never the high end horology you would expect with a Swiss lever movement, so we make allowances.  We have fitted a new brown 18mm NATO style strap, but you could ask for a leather strap or a different colour NATO if you preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our Certificate of Authenticity.
