A blue dialed Seiko from the 1970’s is always a popular choice. Model reference 6118-8020.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in April 1975.
CONDITION
The dial is the key feature here, but the other parts are good too. The movement is the calibre 6118A, an automatic only (no hand winding) movement with quick set date. This is set in a (then) water resistant, all stainless steel case with screw down case back. The case has surface scratches consistent with being worn, with the worst marks on the bottom left lug. The hands are painted white in the parts that are not lumed with Tritium, which makes them very legible. But it is the blue dial that is the stand out feature, and is close to perfect. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, but the bracelets of this period are quite flimsy – it is nice to have the original, but you could fit this on a blue leather or fabric strap if you preferred.
This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

From 1st September 2021 we will be planting a tree for every watch we sell, working with the International Tree Foundation (Est 1922) to make this business positive on carbon. By buying anything pre owned you are effectively reusing what already exists, but this takes it further and makes us feel good.
