With a solid silver case and bracelet, and bark finish to the bracelet and dial, this is a Roy King men’s watch we have never seen before.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the hallmark on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being assayed in 1975.
CONDITION
Roy King was an influential jeweller and watch designer. The Duchesses wore Roy King pieces for Queen Elizabeth’s coronation, and Patti Boyd wore a Roy King bracelet when she married George Harrison. With his watches he described them as ‘Jewellery that tells the time’, which is an excellent way to put it. Most models are in silver, like this watch, but they did a few gold ones such as this one. But the bracelet design on this model is something we have never seen, and the video is the best way to see how it works. Overall condition is good, and the original signed crown remains too. The manual wind movement is working well. The watch is signed on the dial, case, crown, and bracelet.
