HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1975.
CONDITION
This is a nice clean Omega Geneve watch and at 35mm and being mechanical not quartz it is the sort of thing that lots of people are looking for. The calibre 1030 movement is working well. The case, movement, dial and acrylic glass are all signed. The leather strap is new. There is a few discrepancies though when compared to Omega’s own vintage website here. We should point out that Omega’s website is not faultless in the information it provides too, but the watch in the photo has a date and this watch doesn’t. It could be that a replacement dial has been added at some point. Their website also says the case back screws on, and it doesn’t – this is a press on case back – so we have to take some of the information with a pinch of salt. It could even have been a factory option, or have had the wrong caseback fitted during service, but we are just pointing out the differences. To many people this will make no difference whatsoever – if you like the look of the watch, which is working well, then you can buy it. We just prefer to point out the anomalies so you can make an informed decision.
