This men’s vintage Omega de Ville is a stylish and distinctive men’s watch.  Model reference 111.0131.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1975.  This makes it an early model, as Omega list this model as being from their 1976 collection on their website here.  This makes sense, as they will have made watches ready to sell in 1976 in 1975.  Just in time production hadn’t hit Switzerland by this time!

CONDITION

The shape of the stainless steel case  on this Omega de Ville is not too dissimilar to the Patek Philippe Golden Ellipse of the same period (and still available today), and fits the time period well for a 1970’s dress watch.  Inside is an Omega 625 movement, which has 17 jewel and runs at 21,600 bph. After we saw the original strap design we fitted a lizard style strap as it would have been when new.  (We didn’t fit actual lizard, as this can be difficult to export under CITES regulations, but they are available for under £20.)  The leaf hands are original, and the dial print is all there although the dial surface does have a few small marks.  The glass likewise has a few small marks but nothing serious, but you can see brown marks between the glass and where is meets the case.  The crown is the original with a black cabachon polished stone fitted, which is probably oynx.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
