Jeux d’Argent were a range of silver watches from Omega in the early seventies, normally on silver bracelets too. Model reference RS 711.8405

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1975.

CONDITION

The Jeux d’Argent range had quite a variety of styles, for both men and women, and the use of 0.925 Sterling Silver for the case and bracelets is pretty unique for modern wrist watches, but we must remember that pocket watches were generally silver cased.  Yet again, designers look to the past to create the future.  The downside with silver is that it can tarnish, so we have cleaned this watch bracelet and case in both our ultrasonic bath and then with bicarbonate of soda to restore the shine.  The movement fitted is Omega’s manual wind calibre 625, which is all running well.  The deep black dial does have some marks, but everything on the screen looks worse than in real life where it is much smaller.  The crown has the original cabochon polished stone set into it, and this is not chipped.  The long bracelet will need to be altered by a jeweller local to you for a perfect fit – happily it is very long, and it is much easier to make a long bracelet shorter than vice versa.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
