HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in 1974.
CONDITION
The Tissot Seastar range is still part of the current range, and these older models currently provides one of the cheapest ways to get a vintage Swiss automatic watch. The 20 micron gold plated case is in very good order, and the original brushed finish is as good as you will find. The hooded lugs make the watch feel larger than the dimensions suggest. Inside is the Tissot caliber 2571 automatic movement, with quick set date operated by pushing the crown inwards. The day can be set by rotating the hands through 24 hours. The dial is very good too, with a brushed gold centre and blue chapter ring. The leather strap is new, and replaced the original Tissot signed one – probably the original from 1974, but it was beyond saving. We have transferred the gold plated Tissot buckle to the new strap.
