A very nice men’s Tissot 9k gold watch that gives a lot of bang for the buck.

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this movement to being made in 1972.  It was then exported from Switzerland to the UK where it was cased for Tissot by DS&S, a move that prevented the penalising tax on imported gold watches at the time.  As the case has a London 1974 hallmark the watch could not have been completed until 1974.

The cheapest new 9k gold watch on sale today that we can find is a men’s Accurist with a quartz movement that costs £849.  Or you could buy a vintage Swiss manual winding Tissot 9k gold watch for less than half that price?  It’s your money and your choice, but we spent our money on this lovely Tissot!  The movement is Tissot 2541, is hand wound and is running very well.  The dial has only very small areas of patina, not noticeable in most lights.  The case is straight and has never been engraved.  The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath, and while we normally remove these expanding bracelets this is a quality Speidel USA version with very little wear.  We can swap this for a new leather strap if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with the original presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.
