A simple, automatic winding Seiko that has lasted 50 years in very nice condition. Model reference 7009-8020.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
From the serial number on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being made in March 1974. Movement 7006 was released in 1971 and made until 1981, so there can be no mistaking the year this watch was made.
CONDITION
If you want a classic stainless steel mechanical watch from 1974 then you could do far worse than this Seiko 7009-8020. And you would likely spend much more too. The movement is automatic winding only, so you wake the watch with a shake. That allows the crown to be flush with the case – you don’t need it to stand proud. Move the crown tot he first position to quick set the date, and one click more to set the time. The day of the week is in English and can not be quick set. The bracelet has been shortened in the past and we can supply a bracelet extender, like the one shown in the video and photos, if required. The bracelet has been cleaned in our ultrasonic bath.
