A very nice, second generation Omega Time Computer watch complete with the original bracelet and magnet.  Model reference TC-2 or 396.0831.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the serial number on the movement we can accurately date this watch to being made in the launch year of this model, 1974.  Many of the gold discs that hold the serial number of these watches are lost over time, but this is still in place.

CONDITION

Introduced in 1974, the gold plated TC-2 cost £330, which is the equivalent of £4,250 today.  The reason people paid so much was for the cutting edge technology that Omega licensed from Pulsar – the Omega 1601 movement is effectively the Pulsar 301.  The good part of that is there are specialists in these models that carry spare and even new modules if needed.  This watch has the Omega branded, original module.  The TC-2 added a date to the time only TC-1 that was worn famously by Kojak.  Setting these are unusual in that you use a magnet, stored in the bracelet clasp, and hold in on the case back.  It is not difficult, and you won’t need to do it often.  The 14k gold filled case is in good condition – we would have said great condition but there are two dinks under the signed LED acrylic we point out in the video.   We will install a brand new batteries before sending the watch out to the new owner.  The bracelet is quite long and our sister website, SpareLinks.com, may have extra links if required.  Omega’s website refers this as a Constellation model, but we have not seen that branding on any watch before.  We show one photo of one of these that sold at Antiquorum’s Omegamania sale in 2007 for CHF 3,776 (which was £1,582).  Like the Pulsars, these are magnet set and the magnet is stored in bracelet.  Instructions to set the watch can be found here.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
