A 1974 Longines manual wind dress watch in a stainless steel case, fitted with the lovely calibre L847.3 movement.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
We can date this perfectly to being produced in 1974 by the serial number on the original movement.
CONDITION
A dress watch should be slim, manual wind and ideally just two hands. This could have been the design brief for this model. The case has hardly any signs of wear save for slight marks where the watch has been opened for servicing. The glass is clean of scratches (although there is some discolouring of the cement holding the glass in place on close inspection.) The crown is an original Longines one. The silver sunburst dial is in fabulous condition. The squared case makes the watch wear larger than the dimensions suggest.
The leather strap has a later Longines buckle on it. A very understated watch and slim enough to fit under any shirt cuff.
