It took 25 years of work for General Electric Company to get awarded this automatic gold Garrard men’s wristwatch.

HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?

From the long service inscription on the case back we can accurately date this watch to being gifted in 1974.  The London hall mark on the inside of the case is also for 1974.

CONDITION

Garrard are not your common high street jewellers.  Founded in 1735, they have so many Royal customers that their website has a special page dedicated to just this.   But they commissioned rather than made watches, so they specified an automatic ETA 2783 25 jewel movement of good quality.  The case was made by David Shackman and Sons, DS&S, and this firm also made 9k gold cases for brands like Rolex and Longines, so the quality is there too.  In short, corners were never cut with a Garrard watch.  Everything is in good shape, but the crown is a little stiff to pull into hand set position.  The leather strap is new, and could be swapped for a different colour if preferred.

This watch will be supplied with our branded presentation box and our Certificate of Authenticity.

Please see the HD video for more detail.  All photos and videos are part of the description and are of the actual watch unless mentioned.  We do not photoshop any pictures, and the images are copyright of birthyearwatches.com and should not be used without permission.
