A very scarce timepiece, which can be worn as a pendant or converted to a desk clock. Never seen another Seiko like it! Model reference 21-0410.
HOW DO WE DATE THIS WATCH?
Unusually for a Seiko there is no serial number, but this might be because it was sold as a clock rather than a watch. However we have found a couple of other examples and they both have the same inscription on the case back and clock base, and those items were each described as having an inscription for a life insurance company celebrating their 10th anniversary in 1973. Happy to be correct or confirmed by any of our Japanese speaking customers though!
CONDITION
As regular visitors will know, we like variety here. But we have had desk clocks and pendant watches before, but never a pendant watch that converts to a desk clock. This timepiece has a manual wind Seiko 21D movement, with shock protection, which is running well. The case has a nice action to it – the video is better to see this than we can describe it. The inscription is on the movement back and around the top of the pendant (or bottom of the base, depending how it is used).
